The humble Air Force 1 has become the perfect baseline for Nike’s in-house design team to really test their flair. From 2018’s seven-piece set of reimagined designs for and by women, to something as audacious as the recently-revealed “Black Tie-Dye” rendition, its versatility speaks volumes. Always down for experimentation, the next release turns the staple sneaker into something of a conversation starter, with a glitchy “Pixel” Air Force 1 redefining the silhouette’s sleek lines and ever-iconic sole unit. After debuting in a clean triple white option, the pair has popped up in a slew of pastel-popped options — and even a snakeskin-riddled pair — it now introduces another new material: TPU
Here, tumbled white leather uppers arrive unadulterated, whilst its in-cut Checks serve up a calming peach hue in shiny TPU. Overlays in the back feature the same material, though it indulges in a richer orange shade, with the tonal duo spotted in unison at the cubed dubraes, too. Completing the design is a handful of orange branding hits, and the pair’s signature pixelated sole unit underfoot in a staple all-white finish.
A release date for this peach-popped Nike Air Force 1 Pixel TPU has not yet been identified, but you should expect to see these roll out at select Swoosh stockists this Spring. As always, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
