Nike Air Force 1 React Split Surfaces in “White Photo Blue”

Somehow, Nike never seems to run out of ideas for its iconic Air Force 1. Appearing in something old, something new, something borrowed — and even blue — on almost a daily basis, the silhouette has shown no signs of fatigue in recent years — in fact, you can expect Bruce Kilgore’s sneaker to steam through 2022 for its 40th anniversary with gusto. The newest take on the silhouette employs a distinct “Split” at the midfoot that separates a more traditional front half with a contemporary rear and juxtaposes each half with opposing technologies.

Despite the toe box being layered above the toe cap, the front end is fairly straightforward, with a triple white leather construct met by added forefoot mini Swooshes and embroidery bars at the vamp. the pair is then split down the middle at the mid panel — literally — with sole units and ripstop uppers spliced into milky-translucent. It’s seamless shell works from fine to rugged gridded finishes that replicate the original design lines, whilst dual-layered Swooshes and polka-dot heel pulls are tacked on over the top. Interestingly, the more traditional front-half is fitted with modern-age React cushioning, while the avante garde rear-end gets a heritage Air treatment.

At this stage, there are no release details provided for this Air Force 1 React Split “White Photo Blue”, but you should expect more news to filter through soon — so be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates. Until then, grab a first and official look at the pair here below.
