Nike Adds an Elegant Air Force 1 to its Upcoming “Worldwide Pack”

Although mostly audacious, overprinted, and bluntly, too ugly to publish, Nike’s upcoming Worldwide Pack still has a few standouts. The simplified-yet-thematic options of the Air Max Plus and Air Max 95 are amongst our favorite — but there’s a duo of ill-fitting pairs that have definitely stood out amongst the sea of Tekashi colors — the previously-previewed white and gold Air Max 90, and now this complimentary Air Force 1 “Worldwide”

Like the aforementioned 90, This Sail and Gold Air Force 1 “Worldwide” ditches the pack’s neons in favor of something more regal and considerably more tasteful. While design elements like overbranding, stacked Swooshes, and external tags remain, they are applied in an elegant matter. Subtly-printed overlays sit atop a clean sail leather base, with a slew of striking Metallic Gold overlays. The tumbled leather Swoosh is complete with thick embroidered trim, while the heel overlay features a tonal representation of the pack’s five-stacked Swoosh motif. Liners too arrive in a golden hue, with further finishes on the tongue and underfoot branding. The latter’s Japanese characters are only visible through its translucent rubber, gold-glittered outsoles — a finish that is also seen on the pack’s Air Max 90.

Pairs of these elegant Uptwns are releasing in Japan on July 17th, and will likely remain a regional exclusive as they were originally planned to coincide with kick-off of the Tokyo Olympics. Keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account should any changes to that arise, but until then you can enjoy a detailed look at the pair here below.
