It took a little while for things to heat up for the Air Max 1 in this, its 35th anniversary year, with Air Max Day activities and collaborations from Patta and Travis Scott setting up a stellar back-end of the year packed full of general releases. Now it appears that the silhouette is picking up steam as we close out the year, with more than a handful of new options set to pad out the back end of 2022. The next to join that lineup is this premium-built Nike Air Max 1 “Ale Brown” that brings a brown shoe inspiration to Tinker’s classic trainer.

Ushering in a completely tonal look, the pair presents with an all-over tan brown tint of the titular huer. It works through subtle shifts of texture, with most of the upper presenting in buttery soft leather, however, the vamp and Swoosh overlays opt for a reptilian textured finish, whilst toe boxes take on suede.. More texture is brought in by way of the canvas tongues, while the remainder of the pair is peppered with premium finishes, including metallic gold ring eyelets and debossed leather tongue tags. All of this rests atop a brown shoe-inspired sole unit, complete with protruding rubbers and midsole stitchwork.
