The year 2023 has been nothing short of remarkable for the Air Max 1. The iconic silhouette took the spotlight on Air Max Day with its prominent big bubble. In addition to the four releases showcasing the oversized Air Unit, the Tinker Hatfield-designed classic is poised to expand its inline catalog with the latest entry in Nike's "Athletic Department" collection.
Regarding colorway, the Nike Air Max 1 "Athletic Department" stands apart from its Dunk Low and Air Force 1 counterparts. While the latter two feature bold red or blue accents, the Air Max 1 opts for more subdued yellow touches, visible only on the outsole, branding, and eyelets. The remainder of the shoe boasts a mix of neutral shades: black suedes and leathers form the mudguard and Swoosh, while grey and white paneling alternate across the rest of the upper.
