Purple OG Maxs Make their Way to Market

The OG looks prime in purple.

Featuring at #7 in our Most Influential Sneakers of All-Time ranking, Nike’s Air Max 1 is a design that truly changed the game — not only for the Swoosh, but for all of sneakers. The exposed Air tech was so popular that it motivated an entire annual series of sneakers. But while the Air Max journey continues to look to the future, the OG still plays a pivotal role in the line’s success.

And just like the Air Max range as a whole, the Air Max ’87 continues to find ways to reinvent itself, this time donning a regal purple suede and grey colorway. The former is found wrapped around the upper’s base, encasing crisp white mesh underlays. Overlays arrive in soft grey leathers, with a more vibrant shade of purple brightening up the Swoosh detailing. The pair is capped off with the classic white/Black sole combination.

Overseas retailers like 43einhalb currently have these listed as “Coming Soon” — so expect a drop to land stateside shortly, too.
