Nike’s Air Max lineage has many momentous moments; the Air Max 1’s debut in 1987 to the ultra-high Air Max 720 just last year — with a lot more filling in the 30-odd years in between. For Air Max heads, though, the mid-2000s was a period that will forever be one of its finest. 2006 saw the brand introduce it’s first toe-to-heel Air unit, the Air Max 360, which in itself was a huge deal. Of course, Nike celebrated their journey from it’s first exposed Air to full-length features in epic proportions with the famed “Powerwall” collection. Mythical in nature, a 56-pair pack in eight different themes is something modern-day sneakerheads could only dream of — but it did happen, and boy was it glorious. Amongst the thematic was the famed “History Of Air”, which saw the re-release of several iconic Air Max models in their OG colorways, including the Air Max 1, Air Max 97 “Silver Bullet”, Air Max 95 “Neon” and the then-new Air Max 360 (which was reintroduced as a VaporMax earlier this year.)
Naturally, with such a large collection, many pairs ended up making their way to outlets — but many were limited and hard to come by. One of those that managed to hold value over the years was the Powerwall’s Air Max 1 “Lemonade”, which are currently available for well over $3k on StockX. Prices may come down a little now with the word that the pair is set to re-release alongside a new “Limeade” and “Pink Lemonade” edition this Fall. The latter is next to release, following on from September’s drop of the Lime rendition, and today we get both a first and official look at the pair
Like the others from the pack, the Air Max 1 “Pink Lemonade” dons a tonal upper in mesh, leather, and long, with retro “Air” print wallpapered across the pair’s key overlays. The pair is then complete with yellow-tinted laces and Air supports which nod the original 2006 release, strawberry-branded tongue tags, and special-edition insoles. Ou can take in a full look at the pair here below, and with the release date of November 12th edging ever closer, you should expect to see us update this article with a full list of stores and raffles for the drop — so stay tuned.
