Where to Buy the Nike Air Max 1 “Shima Shima” (2023)

Tantalizing us with the return of the pack’s Nike Air Trainer 1late last year, Nike will continue to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the “Shims Shima” collection with a reinterpretation of the Air Max 1.

Originally released two decades ago in Japan, Europe, and Canada, the pack was released at the peak of Nike quality control. Premium tooling, top-shelf finishing and the rarity of the releases made the pack one of the most sought-after of the Century’s first decade. Aligned somewhere between the European and Japenese-exclusive colorways, the 2023 Nike Air Max 1 “Shima Shima” takes on an identical design to the Euro’s leather and nubuck release, complete with crochet tongues and pinstripe liners. Its coloration, though, is distant from the grey and navy, instead opting for earthy browns and beiges aligned with the Japanese-exclusive colorway; A perfect homage to the two ultra-rare Airs.
