Nike Air Max 2090 “Spring Festival” Celebrates Chinese New Year

Unveiled as a minor player in its Chinese New Year 2021 collection late last year, the Nike Air Max 2090 “Spring Festival” is just one of a handful of Chinese Knot-inspired releases that tackles the world-renowned craft for its key theme.

The Endless Knot is a trinket of good luck and fortune often handed out for the Chinese New Year — and really it’s something we all need in the new year after a rocky 2020. Nike is hoping that these interwoven Airs can be somewhat of a lucky charm, with its Chinese Knot insignia on the heels, a multi-color basket weave in the rear, and radiant red accents throughout for good luck. It’s all set atop a white upper, a translucent overlay, and complete with black accents at the liner, eyelets, Air cassette, and outsole, and the pair is completed by specially tagged insoles that channel the pack’s overall thematic.
