Available Now // Nike Air Max 2090 “USA”
Though releases for the Air Max 2090 have dried up significantly since its debut a year ago, the Swoosh have one more straggler to bestow — a special-edition release for the 2020 (now 2021) Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The postponement of the event has left the brand with pairs sitting on ice for months, including the Parra and FTC Nike SB Dunks, and more obviously, these MMXX (2020) branded pairs which serve a direct nod to Team USA. Arriving in the nation’s red, white, and blue hues, with a stronger focus on the latter two. Blue mesh uppers peer out through a white sheath overlay across the upper, with tongues and collars evident of the dark royal beneath. Nylon mudguards follow in hue before a bevy of white accents flows through the sole units, liners, laces, and heel overlays. Lastly, Chilie Red reaches the eyestay paneling, heel pull, and lateral mudguard stitching, as well as the MMXX (2020) branding at the forefoot — but it wouldn’t take too much to whip out a red ballpoint to draw an extra “I” at the end to fit the occasion better.
Though a release date did not accompany the official image set below, you should expect to see a rollout of this special-edition Nike Air Max 2090 “USA” hit select retailers this month.
