Nike Adds Carbon Fiber Flair to the Air Max 90 "Infrared"
Motorsport has become an unexpected theme for the Nike Air Max 90 in 2025. Joining a five-pair "Racing" pack this spring, inspired by early-90s race cars, Nike is taking the concept even further with an "Infrared"-inspired Air Max 90 featuring carbon fiber paneling.
This release embraces the motorsport aesthetic by outfitting key panels, including the toe box, tongue, quarter, and mudguard, with a faux carbon fiber finish. The material’s glossy sheen mimics the high-performance aesthetic of racing vehicles, offering a bold and modern twist on the classic design.
Elsewhere, the sneaker stays true to the original Air Max III blueprint, albeit with some slight variations in the grey tones used throughout. The iconic “Infrared” accents remain prominent, ensuring the pair retains its unmistakable identity while adopting a fresh motorsport edge.
Although a release date has yet to be announced, this updated take on the Air Max 90 promises to be a standout addition to Nike’s Spring 2025 lineup. Stay tuned for further updates.
