Following on from yesterday’s NYC Taxi Air Max 95comes another city-inspired release, this time focusing on the Windy City. This Air Max 90 “Chi-City Special” takes on the town’s famed red hue, made famous by many of the city monuments, including the Chicago Theatre and Wrigley Field signs, and, of course, the Chicago Bulls. Though given the pair’s red and orange appearance — as well as the neon light-like insole motif, it appears that it’s the world-renowned theater sign that serves as this pair’s inspiration.

For this release, the pair receives a red leather construction, with tonal overlays in a textured synthetic, and leather mudguards in a deeper, almost maroon, shade of red. That hue then falls down to the Air cassette beneath, and also rears up on the vamp and tongue tag, too. Vibrant crimson pops at the outsole toe and Swoosh are matched at the branding hits and ankle CHI tag, and the pair is completed by the aforementioned City Special graphic insoles.
