ACG-Inspired Air Max 90 is Available Now!
For over 40 years, Nike has been getting your ass outside, from the track to the mountain, to the streets. These days, the focus is predominately on the lifestyle market, but the Beaverton-based brand never forgets its roots. One of the early markets that blew up for Nike was its ACG (All Conditions Gear) lineage, which housed a family of rugged outdoor footwear and apparel in atypical color palates. It was this juxtaposition that helped the sub-brand not only stand out but flourish. These days, the landscape has changed, with footwear categories and crossovers converging at rapid rates. And while this Air Max 90 hasn’t been retooled for treacherous trials, it does pay tribute to the storied history of the cult-classic ACG line, all while capturing it’s own DNA in the process.
Anchored in the OG Infrared’s signature white, black, grey, and red hues, the pair inverts its uppers and reserves the titular red for lesser featuring for an overall appearance much darker. ACG elements arrive by way of flecked midsoles, and vibrant color pops of teal (insoles, Air supports) and pink (rear branding) that blur the lines between a retro runner and traditional trail trainers.
