Sometimes a colorway hits so hard that its moniker becomes transferrable to like-minded colorways upon other silhouettes. The Air Max 90 “Infrared”, the Air Max 95 “Neon”, and the Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” are all great examples of this, as too is the rarely-seen “Dunk From Above” that hit the latter silhouette back in 2016. Though it’s not often replicated on other sneakers when it does, it’s unmistakable mix of navy, white, and golden yellow that immediately evokes memories of the low-key Jordan banger. As does this Air Max 90 “Dunk From Above”, pairing white mesh uppers with dark navy overlays and sparing use of vibrant pops of yellow.

Though this Air Max 90 is void of gum outsoles and relies a little more on white than the aforementioned Air Jordan, its proportions are close. White mesh uppers arrive akin to the AJ4’s netting, while a complete set of overlays arrives in navy leather. Rough leather edging is absent, though it is somewhat channeled through the use of contrast yellow stitching along the guard and branded panel. Liners and eyelets follow suit, appearing in gold, as too do the nylon Swooshes and ankle branded plates. Clean white midsoles remain, while outsoles opt for tri-tones of navy, grey, and yellow. Completing the design is a slew of white branding hits, white laces, and retro Air Max-branded insoles.

A release date for this alternate Nike Air Max 90 “Dunk From Above” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see these hit stores over the next few months.
