Another ACG-Inspired Air Max 90 Appears
For over 40 years, Nike has been inspiring millions to get up and Just Do It, from the track to the streets, or even the mountainside. These days, the focus is predominately on the lifestyle market, but the Beaverton-based brand never forgets its roots. After the initial running boom, one of the early markets that showed significant growth for Nike was its ACG (All Conditions Gear) lineage, which housed a family of rugged outdoor footwear and apparel in atypical color palates. It was this juxtaposition that helped the sub-brand not only stand out, but flourish. These days, the landscape has changed, with footwear categories and crossovers converging at rapid rates. And while this Air Max 90 hasn’t been fully retooled for treacherous trials, it does pay tribute to the storied history of the cult-classic ACG line, all while capturing it’s own DNA in the process.
Anchored in a perfect-for-Summer serving of pastels, the pair links light peach mesh uppers with soft pink suede overlays, warming yellow hues over the midfoot, and shaggy patterned Ashen Slate suedes against bold saturations and heft hardware. The latter comes by way of an extended toggle lacing system that wraps around to the rear, as well as ACG staple utilitarian pulls, and ultra-90s pops of teal at the forefoot mini Swoosh and branded panels. Sole units continue the majority soft-hued approach, with sail midsoles, light pink Air cassettes, and milky-translucent outsoles completing the design.
With pairs of this ACG-inspired Air Max 90 already available in Asia, you should expect to see a global release roll out soon. Until details on that drop emerge, grab an official look at the pair below, and be sure to keep it locked on our official Twitter account for further updates.
