Nike Revisits Original "Slate" Air Max 95 for Big Bubble Revival Come May 2026

Yes, you read that right: the "Slate" Nike Air Max 95 is set to return with Big Bubble cushioning come May.

Part of the silhouette's original run, the blue-laden look formed part of the sneaker's leather ensembles. Over the years, the "White/Emerald Green/Lake Blue/French Blue/Obsidian/Black"-colored pair has returned on several occasions, with its most recent faithful presentation arriving in 2015 as part of the Air Max design's 20th anniversary. A similar color palette has emerged on hybrid and newer proposals from the storied roster, but fans have been eager for the "Slate" look to arrive with bigger Air Max units.

The news, reported by @KicksFinder on X, was partly-expected given the recent launch of an Air Max 95-themed Nike Icon Wallet in a "Obsidian/White/Emerald Green" color scheme. The front of the accessory sees the same anatomy and nature-inspired layers that were introduced by Sergio Lozano in 1995, in a setup that's unmistakably "Slate."

Stay tuned for firm Nike.com launch details. The "Slate" AM95 is expected to release on Thursday, May 7. Adult sizes of the sneaker should retail for $190.
