The Doernbecher Air Max 95 is Re-Releasing Today!
15 years of fight.
For 15 years, Nike has been working with Oregon’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital to give some of their talented patients a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to design an incredible line of Nike and Jordan Brand sneakers, while they battle and fight their illnesses in the OSHU.
For the milestone, the Swoosh is looking to re-launch some of its most popular releases from the decade-and-a-half-long collaboration. Kicking things off tomorrow is Jacob Burris’ Air Max 95 from 2015, which came inspired by his love for baseball, playing the drums, and his pet hamster Jamal. At the time, Jacob looked like any other 14-year-old kid, but on the inside, a Dacron tube holds his aorta together and keeps his heart pumping strong. His rare heart condition has earned Jacob the nickname ‘The Bionic Boy’ from his family Now a Junior in High School, Jacob continues to fight his illness as the vice-president of his own non-profit, while advocating for heart health awareness in front on Congress in Washington D.C.
Limited pairs of Jacob’s Air Max 95 PRM will return via a Nike SNKRS draw today, February 19th at 10 am ET, with more pairs set to release over the year, including a likely retro of the Doernbecher Air Jordan 6 which surfaced online last week.
