Nike Air Max 95 OG “Black/Persian Violet” Joins the Big Bubble Lineup

Nike’s 30th-anniversary celebration of the Air Max 95 is proving to be bigger than anyone could have expected. While early signs pointed to a few nostalgic retros and high-profile collaborations, the reality has been far more expansive—Nike SB and A Ma Maniére collaborations, another “Neon” Air Max 95 return, and a steady rollout of big bubble-equipped pairs that remix the model’s signature gradient aesthetic. Among the latest additions to the lineup is the Air Max 95 “Black/Persian Violet,” which brings a darker, more aggressive take to the collection.

This new iteration ditches the classic gradient mesh for a complete leather build, maintaining the silhouette’s signature wavy paneling but with a sharper, more refined finish. The sleek black leather upper is a foundation for “Persian Violet” contrast stitching, highlighting the Swoosh, sidewall detailing, and the sneaker’s unmistakable Air units. The outsole follows suit, with the same deep violet hue adding a pop of contrast against the otherwise dark design. Small touches of “Wolf Grey” on the spine and tongue tag introduce a subtle break in the color scheme, ensuring the pair doesn’t lean too monochromatic.

Nike is also preparing more contrast-stitched, all-leather executions, including this Wolverines-inspired design, and one in a striking White/Red render.
