Nike's Big Bubble revival of the Air Max 95 has already treated longtime and new fans alike to a number of compelling styles. A limited launch of the model's original "Neon Yellow" look rubbed some consumers the wrong way, but other iconic finishes may serve as consolation before the year ends. Case in point?: A return of the "Bright Mandarin" pair.
Despite debuting in 1997, the "Black/Cool Grey/White/Bright Mandarin" color scheme is widely considered one of the Nike Air Max 95's original ensembles as it belonged to the brand's early push of the silhouette. As with the aforementioned "Neon Yellow" outfit, the citrusy flavor is expected to return with most of the bells-and-whistles with which it launched more than 25 years ago; the modern Air Max unit is more robust than what consumers had grown accustomed to over the last two decades, but is still smaller than what was found on Sergio Lozano's original creation.
Last seen in 2011, the Air Max 95 "Bright Mandarin" falls in line with what most sneaker fans have come to associate with the mid-1990s design: a greyscale gradient across its nature-inspired upper. Branding, lace loops, and the visible Nike Air units, however, indulge in vibrant flair that's equal-parts retro and fresh.
A firm Nike.com release date has yet to be confirmed by the Swoosh as of this writing, but friends of the brand have already shared their pairs across social media, teasing what's to come. Enjoy detailed shots of the "Bright Mandarin" AM95 below. This story's original lead image is a mock-up found on Bennetts.
