After a solid first half of 2021 for the silhouette’s 25th anniversary earlier this year, things have slowed for the Air Max 96 II. But as we migrate back into the warmer months, Nike will reinstate the sneaker — and first up is this all-new, Fourth of July friendly Nike Air Max 96 “Ashen Slate”
Arriving with a classic mid-90s aesthetic, the era-staple white lather overlays, and red-and-blue trimming make this feel as if it’s ripped straight out the archive. All of that rests atop a mesh upper of the titular light grey-blue hue, with the colors bleeding onto the leather toe caps and mudguards, too. A striking white midsole hosts vibrant red Air supports, all of which rests atop a patriotic navy and red rubber outsole to complete the design.
Grab an official look at the Air Max 96 II “Ashen Slate” here below, and expect to see these arrive at select Swoosh retailers and Nike.com in the coming months. Until then, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for updates.
