After a brief hiatus over the Fall/Winter season, the Air Max 96 II appears to be back in full swing for Spring, with several new options appearing for the season ahead, the next of which boasts the ultra-versatile white and black scheme seen on almost every sneaker in history.
Anchored in a monochrome material mix of ripstop and nubuck, the release then employs just two hues: white and black. It’s as if white is reserved for just the upper, tongue, laces, and midsoles, with overlays of black piled on top. There are expectations, though, like white piping at the tongues, and select branded hits delivered in white thread, but for the most part, it’s white wrapped in black. Conversely, the sole unit is the opposite, with black Air supports stowed within clunky white EVA midsoles — which is then wrapped in black rubber outsoles.
