Where to Buy the Nike Air Max 97 “Air Sprung”

Nike’s new focus on renewable materials and sustainable construction has defiantly not gotten in the way of creativity; in fact, it seems like the brand’s Move to Zero campaign has actually challenged design teams to deliver differently, and therefore more creatively. From Happy Pineapple packs to this new “Air Sprung” Air Max 97, the Swoosh has taken the serious side of sneakers and put it in a whimsical spin.

This Air Max 97 is the latest inclusion of a wider collection for Nike Sportswear in early 2022, and like the others, this one boasts a bevy of recycled materials, balanced vibrant, and soft color schemes, tack-on stitchwork, and playful embellishments inspired by nature. Materials focus on tumbled leather, canvas, and burlap-like weaves, likely all recycled or part thereof. Color-wise, you’ll find a simple beige and cream base bolstered by vibrant pink and purple accents, white midsoles that house colorful Air supports, as well as a two-tone gum and white rubber outsole. Again you can expect to find tongue branding reading “Air Sprung”, butterfly and caterpillar embroidered detail, and the now-infamous Nike mushroom man on the outsole.
