Available Now // Air Max 97 “Gold Medal”
With the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo right around the corner, we’re starting to see a slew of themed sneaker selections hit the market. We already know of a “Tokyo” Air Jordan 3 and the possible return of 2001’s “Japan Pack”of Air Jordan 1s— and we just got a five-pack of Olympic Ring-colored Air Max 97s unloaded on us last week. Now, it appears that there’s more Summer Games-themed sneakers on the way, with this “Gold Medal” Air Max 97 appearing early this morning.
Aside from the pair’s black liner, the entire sneaker is decked out in metallic golds: the mesh tongues, high-shine uppers, midsoles, Air supports and golden-gum outsoles give off a victorious vibe. Swoosh branding on the mid panels and tongues are debossed as if it was a minted metal, and there are small hits of ribbon red on the heel and underfoot Swoosh. We’re hoping that this is one of a three-piece “Medal Pack”, but other colorways are yet to surface.
Take a look through the gallery of images below, and look for this “Gold Medal” Air Max 97s to hit select Swoosh stockists and Nike.comover the coming weeks. As always, keep your eyes locked on our Twitter Feed for further updates, including the possibility of accompanying silver and bronze editions.
