Nike Air Max 97 “Puerto Rico” Just Restocked!
Surely they won’t botch this release again, right? It might be a case of third-time lucky for Nike, who look to deliver 2021’s Puerto Rican Day release on the Air Max 97. It follows two major fuck-ups from Nike in 2019 and 2020 respectively, which delivered both culturally-flawedand flag-faulted Air Force 1 Lows. Now, you would expect Nike to take some extra precautions for 2021’s release — so much so that they’ve even ditched the Air Force 1 for the 97 as if it were some sort of superstition.
Sneaker-sleuth @PY_Rates has dropped the information on the release, which once again is expected to arrive before the annual June celebration. But whilst we know the model, its release window, and its color scheme, just exactly how it will be constructed and blocked remains a mystery. Listed colors of Metallic Silver and Varsity Red give us some insight into the release, though you can also expect to see both white and blue arrive, too, along with Puerto Rican flags throughout — hopefully, depicted in the correct manner this time around.
