Nike Air Max 97 “Infrared” is Available Now

Air Max releases thus far have been heavy on the Air Max 95 and Air Max 90, and rightfully so, with both pairs celebrating big anniversaries in 2020. Not left out of the release schedule by any stretch of the imagination is the widely loved Air Max 97. In fact, we’ve seen ample. But not being a special year for the silhouette doesn’t mean it can’t join the party, right? Here it pays tribute to the OG Air Max 90 “Infrared” — a sneaker that’s also set to return in 2020. It joins the Nike SB Dunk in celebrating the famed colorway this year, and if sales of the Dunks are anything to go buy, these won’t last long either.

Donning a like-mix of white mesh popped with black, grey and Infrared accents, the pair’s palate is instantly recognizable — even if materials and grey shades differ. Midsole arrives more in-line with the OG 90, pairing crisp whites with a black rubber outsole and infrared accents at the toe, while the color returns again on the pair’s Air support system. Black lines, red tongue overlays and red embroidered branding completes the design.
