Available Now // Air Max 98 “Iron Grey”
With Beaverton’s focus shifting toward the Air Max 90 and Air Max 95 in 2020, we’ve noticed a significant slide in other retro runners of late. One of those that’s seemingly fallen by the wayside is the revered Air Max 98, whose presence on the shelves has been missed. Having recently previewed a luxe ladies editionand a thug’s delight black and grey— along with this new Grey, Red and White rendition — it appears that the 22-year-old sneaker is on the comeback.
The pair in question utilizes a monochrome base and flushes it with vibrant red for effect. The upper is split between a myriad of greys shades, the lightest on the tongue and textile base, a slightly darker shade on the ured-piped overlay, and one that’s darker again along with the mudguards. The toe box and medial overlays tone it down a notch again, with the liners arriving in an almost charcoal finish. The subtle shifts in grey make the aforementioned red hits leap of the base, seen here on the piping, ribbon lacestays, tongue liner and branding, embroidered Swooshes and Air units. The latter comes cased in a white midsole, and the pair is wrapped up with a black and grey rubber outsole.
Take a peep at the pair in detail below, and you can now find pairs of this Grey/Red Air Max 98 available now at stores like Jimmy Jazzand YCMC for $170.
