And just like that, another Nike Air Max Day has arrived.
What began in 2014 as a celebration of the original sneaker to feature a visible Air unit—the Air Max 1—has become a worldwide movement inspired by one of the most-popular cushioning technologies ever.
Air Max Day 2026 has coincided with ongoing anniversaries of the Air Max 95 and Air Max 90. As such, classic takes on both designs will release on Thursday, March 26. The Swoosh has also tapped longtime collaborator and Air Max-enthusiast Patta for a refreshing take on its beloved "Waves" series of makeovers.
It wouldn't be a proper celebration of Air without an all-new sneaker design. So, that's where the Air Liquid Max comes in. Co-signed by Yeat and Hiroshi Fujiwara of fragment design, the futuristic silhouette provides a glimpse at the next 39 years of Air Max through innovative materials and a reimagined layout.
