The Deluxe Gets Lux’d in Sail and Desert Ore

Some would suggest that the return of the Air Max Deluxein 2018 was more successful than it’s actual debut at the turn of the Century. The always slept-on silhouette made a strong run in 2018, kicked off with collaborations from Skepta, followed by OG retros and insane new colorways like the “Bred” pair that recently hit retailers. And, by the looks of things, the good times will continue to roll for the silhouette 20th anniversary with this next pair an already certified hit.

Nike has never shied away from celebrating significant milestones for silhouettes. It’s no different for the Air Max Deluxe, by this time they are shying away from the silhouettes boisterous prints and colors. This effort sees the Swoosh tame the soundwave-inspired shell with a simple color palate of luxury-vibing Sail and Desert Ore.

While the all-white pair sole extremely well last year, this option arrives in a more market-friendly shade of off-white, paired with black outsoles for contrast, offsetting what could have been an overwhelming upper. The hits of Desert Ore on the heel and Swoosh partner perfectly with its elegant sail upper for a finish that looks much more expensive than the retail price tag of $180.
