1995’s Nike Air Max Penny 1 is a bonafide classic amongst sneakerheads. The first named signature sneaker for the Orlando Magic superstar arrived alongside some pretty memorable campaigns, but it was the kid’s electric on-court presence that made the sneaker a star. Though the silhouette has been seen a handful of times over the past few years, the OG Nike Air Max Penny 1 “Orlando” — the most famous of all colorways – has not hit retailers in over 10 years. That’s all about to change in 2022, with confirmation of its return to shelves early next year.
Though we’re yet to sight the pair, it’s expected to return in all of its OG glory, with pinstripe tongues set against bold black suede uppers and the bright white of the midsole rise. The silhouette’s signature Jelly Swooshes at the midfoot in royal blue, as will the famed 1 cent motifs in the rear.
With pairs not expected to arrive until early next year and the first looks currently unavailable, enjoy a detailed look at the 2011 retro here below, and as always, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for updates.
