Black and Aqua Take Over the Air Max Plus 3
With its fervent global following, Nike Air Max Plus 3 maintains its position as a cornerstone in Nike's Tuned Air portfolio, riding high on the wave of its 2019 renaissance. The iconic design from the early 2000s, crafted by Sean McDowell, has recently breathed new life into its aesthetics, introducing a harmonious blend of stark black and vibrant aqua elements.
In this re-imagination of the Air Max Plus 3, the design predominantly focuses on an array of jet-black shades. The near-entirety of the upper succumbs to this bold color choice, apart from some crisp white accents that emerge from the heel counter's lugs and the Tuned Air branding on the forefoot.
The black hues also dominate the midsole, mudguard, molded heel, bulbous collar overlay, and upper tongue, contributing to a sleek and modern look. Adding depth to this dark portrayal, the model's laces, and sock liner also partake in the somber palette.
However, an exciting injection of color promptly disrupts this monochrome scheme. A magnetic gradient of "Aqua" and bright teal makes a vivid entrance, blanketing the mesh upper and extending to the tongue and heel's branded embellishments. This lively pop of color contrasts the jet-black base, creating a visually striking summer-ready design.
