Nike Adds Patent Leather and Chrome Checks to the Air Max Plus

Marking a high point in Nike's 25th-anniversary celebration of the Air Max Plus, a new iteration emerges, embracing the legacy of Sean McDowell’s 1998 design while steering it into a new era. The latest variant, cloaked in a predominantly black theme, brings a fresh perspective to the iconic silhouette, appealing to enthusiasts and collectors alike.

This version of the Air Max Plus distinguishes itself through a bold material choice, replacing the traditional mesh base with a rippled patent leather finish. The sneaker's enduring design is further refreshed with textile overlays along the sides, substituting the usual TPU pieces. Chrome elements appear strikingly on the profile swooshes, lending a futuristic touch to the predominantly black sneaker. Contrasting accents of blue and electric green enliven the badges on the tongue and spine, injecting vibrancy into the otherwise monochrome design.

This Nike Air Max Plus is expected to arrive on Nike.com on February 1o, 2024, retailing at $190 USD.
