An Alternate Black “Color Flip” Air Max Plus Has Surfaced
Flippin’ out.
After an absence of Nike‘s storied “What The” creations, customizers and IG concept creators have been pushing the mismatched movement for a minute now — and now it looks like the brands are finally starting to take notice. With last year’s “Greedy” Air Max Plus and this year’s “What The” Air Jordan 4, it looks like mismatching is well and truly back in vogue.
Entering the flipped fold is this all-new Air Max Plus, which takes just four colors to provoke an outstanding eye-catching effect. Here, serving as an alternate to yesterday’s white, solid black mesh bases replace the soft gradients, while liners, eyestays tongues all arrive in complimentary hues. Solid and split-colored cage overlays arrive on the upper, with both feet rocking orange on the medial sides, the left shoe with vibrant volt and the right with purple on the lateral respectively. Heel overlays are switched to orange, while the toe caps, which were solid on the original pair, arrive two-toned. Sole units, Swooshes, tongue branding, and mudguards all remain the same as the white rendition.
Grab a detailed look at boldly colored — and equally audacious color-blocked — pair below, with an expected release to land at select Swoosh stockist and Nike.com later this summer. For updates on the drop, be sure to keep your eyes locked on our Nike Release Dates page for amendments.
