Nike Bring Mismatch Back with this “Color Flip” Air Max Plus
After an absence of Nike‘s storied “What The” creations, customizers and IG concept creators have been pushing the mismatched movement for a minute now — and now it looks like the brands are finally starting to take notice. With last year’s “Greedy” Air Max Plus and this year’s “What The” Air Jordan 4, it looks like mismatching is well and truly back in vogue.
Entering the flipped fold is this all-new Air Max Plus, which takes just four colors to provoke an outstanding eye-catching effect. Here, white mesh bases, cage overlays, liners, and midsoles remain consistent, while both shoes sport medial orange gradients, profile Swooshes, mudguards, and orange eyelets — but that’s where the consistencies stop. The Left shoe rocks vibrant volt on the toecap, tongue branding, mudguard, midfoot shank, gradient upper, heel overlays, insoles, and Air units. The right shoe does the same with a bold purple.
