adidas may have the official Star Wars contract, but should Nike have bid for the rights to boast the intergalactic franchise over their footwear, we’re tipping that these would have been a perfect fit for one of the franchise’s meanest, menacing baddies. That’s why we’re calling these the “Darth Maul” Air Max Plus — and if you’re a Warsie that doesn’t need the official Lucasfilm tags, then these are for you.

Essentially the pair is your stock-standard black TN, but it arrives with some intimidating embellishments. Ominous red of the Sith Order arrives on the midfoot Jewel Swooshes, midfoot shank, and stowed away inside the Air support systems, as well as bold stikes on the eyelets and tongue branding. The pair’s iconic gradient finish is reserved for the cage overlays, riding from red up top to black at the bottom, and the pair is completed with classic red and yellow Tuned Air branding throughout.
