Nike Honor Air Max Plus Origins With Palm Tree-Printed Releases

As it strides into its 25th year, this legendary Air Max Plus takes a deep breath and plunges back into the very scene that first sparked its creation.

With the upcoming release, the silhouette revisits its origin, not through abstraction but by painting its initial inspiration onto its very skin: the serene sunset and silhouetted palm trees that once ignited Sean McDowell's imagination.

This new rendition is a canvas of the nightfall that McDowell once beheld, but rather than drenching the upper in the fiery hues of a setting sun, it opts for a tranquil twilight aesthetic. The sneaker's body is adorned with palm tree graphics, the strokes delicate yet deliberate, in shades of white and jade green, capturing the cool whisper of evening winds rustling through leaves.

But the homage doesn't end with the visuals. The accompanying accents — a symphony of the same white and jade green — speak the same language, whispering tales of calm shores and peaceful evenings. A flirtation with silver teases from the liners brings to mind the first stars that dot the evening sky, and cascade down to grace the lower half of the chambray overlays.

Beneath this artful upper, the design grounds itself in functionality and iconic comfort. White midsoles cradle the whisper of muted green in the Air supports and shanks, a nod to the technology that has seen the Air Max through a quarter of a century. And as every step connects with the earth, the time-tested black rubber outsole ensures each stride is as secure as it is nostalgic.

This new Nike Air Max Plus is slated for a Fall release, with pairs touching down at select Euro retailers on October 31st; a Stateside release is undisclosed at this time.
