Sean McDowell's Nike Air Max Plus design has lived many lives since its debut in 1998. And while the Swoosh will surely continue to reimagine the silhouette's DNA, one thing has remained constant: the sneaker's affinity of bold, eye-catching makeovers.
Ahead of summer, the Nike Sportswear team has turned up the temperature on the Tuned Air pioneer. The Air Max Plus recently surfaced in a "Black/Sundial/Neon Yellow/White" color scheme that's been dubbed Heatmap by netizens across the globe. The pair features all of the bells-and-whistles that've made it a street legend—palm tree-inspired overlays, whale tail-shaped mid-foot shank, visible Air—but indulges in an abstract gradient across its upper. Shades of orange, green, and blue come together to form what look like heat points from toe to heel.
Enjoy official photos of the "Heatmap" Air Max Plus ahead. Pairs should release via Nike.com soon for $190.
