Nike Repurpose the Air Max Plus "Sunset" for the Fairways
Nike is bringing the iconic "Sunset" colorway of the Air Max Plus to the golf course with a reimagined version of Sean McDowell’s design. Set to drop in Spring 2025, the Air Max Plus Golf offers a fresh take on the legendary silhouette, adding a touch of golf-inspired functionality without compromising on style.
The classic color blocking of the "Sunset" iteration remains, but there are notable adjustments in materials and construction. For starters, the mesh base of the original is swapped for leather, providing a premium look and feel. The mudguard and backtab are constructed from pebbled black leather, giving the shoe a more refined appearance, while a subtle suede finish is applied to the top segment of the tongue for added texture.
One of the standout features of this golf-ready version is the redesigned outsole. The no-spike design ensures optimal grip and stability on the course, replacing the traditional Air Max Plus outsole with a more functional one for golfing performance. This alteration combines with the shoe’s sleek look to create a unique blend of style and utility for the fairways.
Though an official release date has yet to be confirmed, the Air Max Plus Golf “Sunset” is expected to hit shelves in Spring 2025, priced at $185.
