Nike Air Max Sunder “Doernbecher” by Quin Nims Revealed for the 20th Collection
The annual Doernbecher Freestyle Collection will celebrate its 20th year this January, with another incredible lineup unveiled for the benefit of the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Amongst this year's designers, 10-year-old Quin Nims brings her vibrant vision to life with her reimagined Nike Air Max Sunder, blending personal inspiration with bold design elements.
Quin’s design centers on what she describes as “splashes of joy and power,” a theme that shines through the paint splatter detailing on the upper and heel Air bubbles. Her three favorite neon hues dominate the color palette, creating a striking, energetic look that mirrors her dynamic personality. These vibrant colors are complemented by unique textures and shapes, including a scaly “Safari” print on the mudguard and curved, sawtooth designs inspired by her favorite on-screen dragon.
The shoe’s zippered closure adds a modern twist, with translucent laces that reveal “QUIN” proudly stamped on the tongue underneath. This personal touch highlights Quin’s creative voice and connection to the design, making it a meaningful addition to the Doernbecher lineup.
Quin Nims’ Nike Air Max Sunder “Doernbecher” is set to release on January 25th, 2025, at a retail price of $185.
Proceeds from the Doernbecher Freestyle Collection will directly benefit the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, continuing its legacy of supporting young patients and their families through art, design, and storytelling.
