Intergalactic Nike Air Max Tailwind IV SE Arrives Inspired Atmospheres of Earth and Mars

Not all Air is equal. Nike, who pioneered the technology, do it better than anyone else, and they understand that the Air on Earth and our neighboring planet differ significantly. So it’s fitting that the series in which debuted Nike Air Tech explores the elements on this special-edition intergalactic release. Arriving in a space-age aesthetic, this Nike Air Max Tailwind IV “Earth/Mars” dons an impressive mix of finishes that elevates the pair above all others we’ve seen since the silhouette rebirthed back in early 2019. Uppers arrive in the silhouette-standard black mesh, whilst shimmering “Metallic Black” graces the textured overlays and midfoot caging. Striped tongue, toe, and heel overlays add intrigue to the otherwise all-black upper, as does the subtle metallic gold piping around the cage panel and tongue. A similar golden finish has been applied the entirety of the midsole, save the clear Air windows, and it arrives resting atop a matte metallic silver rubber outsole. Although the outer is in itself one intriguing being, its what’s inside that provides the pair with its most alluring feature;: graphic insoles that feature the contents of Earth (right) and Mars’ (left) atmospheres listed à la “Nutrition Facts”.

An official release date for the Nike Air Max Tailwind IV “Earth/Mars” is not yet known, but it is likely to launch on Nike.com by the end of the year alongside other planet-inspired pairs — possibly even linking into the just-previewed Jordan Trunner Ultimate that surfaced in a similar-yet-graphicless colorway.
