Nike's retro basketball catalog remains a cornerstone of its sales strategy, and for good reason. In 2025, the brand will continue this trend by reviving the Nike Air Max Uptempo 95.
Known for being the first Nike shoe to feature full-length visible Air cushioning, the Air Max Uptempo quickly became a fixture on the courts, worn by legends like Scottie Pippen, Ray Allen, Tim Duncan, and, in his high school days, Kobe Bryant. For 2025, Nike is celebrating the model’s 30th anniversary by reintroducing the iconic "White/Black/Teal" colorway.
This upcoming release of the Air Max Uptempo maintains the original's beloved design elements. The upper combines white leather and mesh for a clean, dominant top half, while black nubuck wraps around the mudguard, seamlessly integrating with the edges of the upper and sole unit. This stark contrast enhances the visual appeal and stays true to the aesthetic that made the shoe a 90s favorite.
True to its heritage, the sneaker is expected to retain classic features such as the prominent AIR branding embroidered on the eyestays, multiple Swoosh logos adorning the upper, and bungee cord pull-tabs on the tongue and heel for added functionality and style. The midsole, crafted from black foam, houses the full-length visible Air unit, delivering unmatched cushioning. This is complemented by a durable black and teal rubber outsole that ensures optimal traction.
Enjoy the 2015 retro pair below, and expect to see and learn more about the March 2025 re-release as the months progress.
