Nike's Hybrid Air Max Waffle SP Appears in An "Orange" Update
At its core, Nike, Inc. is a performance sportswear brand, but it also delivers lifestyle-oriented products. Offerings like the Air Max Waffle SP blend both worlds in a modern package rooted in heritage.
Launched last year, the silhouette combines the Swoosh's Waffle Trainer from the 1970s with Sean McDowell's evolutionary Air Max Plus design from 1998. The result is a footwear model that simultaneously feels familiar and new. Previous ensembles have indulged in vibrant green and purple tones, but the latest option to surface sees the Air Max sneaker indulge in dark shades of orange across its suede and mesh upper.
Underfoot, the Tuned Air experience couples with an aggressive, waffle-patterned rubber outsole, showcasing Nike's innovative history. Branding elements also flirt with the different eras, cementing the product as one from the Oregon-based institution.
