Ok, let’s finally call it what it is — a resurgence. Over the past 12 months, the Nike Air Uptempo has picked up a head of steam, including the return of some fan favorites and OGs, to some whimsical releases for kids and women alike. This next-up offering in black and silver sits somewhere in between, with an OG-inspired scheme delivered with a playful twist.
After a first glance at the release, I thought this was merely a black leather edition of the OG white/black release, but after a thorough look through, there are a few more tweaks to be found. Firstly, the accents aren’t in fact white — they’re silver. The metallic finish hot the letter trimming, Air supports, and Swooshes. There are also some intriguing material choices and omissions, including nubuck toe caps, the removal of the tongue tips, and the addition of an iridescent-like silver panel at the tongue. There’s extra-wavy Nike branding on the insoles in bright blue, and the pair is finished off by a special medallion hangtag.

An official release date for this OG-inspired effort is not yet known, but you should expect to see this Nike Air More Uptempo sneak into select retailers and Nike.com soon for the standard $160.
