Nike Brings a Familiar Bulls Flavor to This New More Uptempo

Scottie Pippen’s Nike Air More Uptempo is one of the brand’s most recognizable trainers from the 1990s. It encapsulated the era of loud, gaudy, statement style with three simple letters. It’s been through the cycle a few times since it first touched down from special-edition releases to collaborations, but it always looks at home when it’s dressed in some sort of Bulls schematic. And although this new release isn’t a perfect fit for the franchise home court colors, it still evokes nostalgia for the period in which Scottie and Mike were at the top of the world.

Anchored in all-white leather and mesh the pair employees evenly spaced pops of red throughout, from the pulls to the Swooshes at the toe and heel, to midsoles and outsole detailing. Profile AIR lettering is layered on in white and grey, with the latter returning again underfoot in the form of a lightly-flecked cement rubber outsole. The latter is also struck with panels of red and Swooshes of white to tie in the upper underfoot.
