Scottie Pippen’s iconicNike Air More Uptempo has become one of Nike’s mainstay silhouettes over the past half-decade, with the model making sporadic appearances every other month. Recently, the model has made itself known more frequently, indicating that the Swoosh may well be ramping things up for the silhouette in 2022 — and if you needed another indication, this all-new Nike Air More Uptempo “Lakers” furthers that notion.

Prepared in classic black nubuck build, the Championship-worthy colorway sees a premium retooling to the lettered overlays and tongue tag, with a low-gloss, textured finish applied to a buttery black leather. This, along with the immediately surrounding Nike Swoosh motifs, all arrive in Lakers Purple — with the tie-in to the SoCal franchise coming by way of metallic gold tongue detailing. Everything else about this design is blacked out, save the shattered/zebra-like Nike insole branding that completes the design.
