It’s back! Tinker Hatfield’s iconic 1992 silhouette, the Nike Air Raid, will be returning this Summer in it’s OG Black/Grey colorway.
Interest has been drumming up for the sneaker in recent years, thanks in part to the Air Jordan 8 “Air Raid” from 2018, and more recently thanks to Fear of God founder Jerry Lorenzo’s obsession with the silhouette. Jerry’s love for the sneaker runs so deep that he crafted an OG Black/Grey FOG Raid silhouette for his family and friends. Now, after word broke that his F&F pair will be releasing this Summer, it should have come as no surprise that the OG ’92 release would be making a comeback, too. Now that news has been confirmed, with official images of its 2020 retro release hitting Nike servers today.
The versatile trainer is revived in its original black and neutral hues, with tumbled black leathers providing a clean polish at the forefoot and collar, and nubucks and mesh supplying muted contrast at the toebox, mid-panel, and heel. Crossover straps are accented with brighter, contrasted hits of Flint Grey that match the toe box and branding, whilst a striking white midsole sits wedged between all-black above and below.
