A product of 1996, the Nike Air Rift has mostly flown under-the-radar since its debut in the late 20th century. Over the years, the silhouette has received a number of retros, but arguably none have demanded attention quite like a newly-surfaced ballet-inspired pair.
Akin to other juggernauts within the sportswear space, the Swoosh conglomerate has reimagined some of its silhouettes through the balletcore trend lens, subtracting and added elements to achieve a familiar, but refreshing look. The Air Rift's original design already features a low-profile and fastening strap, but its Ballet-iteration ups-the-feminine-ante by including ribbon-reminiscent lacing at the collar. The non-standard element allows wearers to recreate ballet flats, or tie a bow at the rear. In either case, the modification falls in line with ongoing womenswear trends.
The pair's all-black color scheme delivers versatility that's sure to be appreciated by bold fashionistas.
