Currently amid its 35th birthday bash, Tinker Hatfields Nike Air Trainer 1 has had a fairly solid season, with everything from heavily-modified SP releases to collaborative efforts from Travis Scott and a slew of OG and fan-favorite re-releases. One of those we have seen return, 2003’s Nike Air Trainer 1 “Shima Shima,” looks back to one of the silhouette’s most influential eras. Furthering that is tied into the Japanese culture is this new Nike Air Trainer 1 “Tokyo 2003” —though its exact influence is not

Remembering the era of premium materials, the release looks to beautiful white and black leather uppers, with exotic reptilian textured overlays, and creamy leather tongues rounding out the upper. It’s then struck with pops of magenta at the heel, vamp, eyestay, and sole; the latter fixed in between black and white. Premium embossed leather tongue tags rest up top, special TYO/03 motifs branded into the lateral heel — and matching hang tag.

A release date for the Nike Air Trainer 1 “Tokyo 2003” is yet to be announced, but you should expect more information to flow through over the coming weeks and months – so be sure to keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for updates.
