These days we see a wealth of signature sneakers throughout the NBA, each of which appears to arrive in a new colorway every other day. The player exclusives are even more frequent, leaving us in a state of signature sneaker overload. But there are a few annual occasions that stand up and demand attention; All-Star Weekend, Christmas Day, and Black History Month. The latter more meaningful than most, and of which, Nike has just unveiled its annual collection of Signature Player Exclusives.
While traditional arriving in either black-based or traditional printed options (sometimes both) 2020’s effort has seen the brand take a more vibrant and unique approach. The quintet mixes influence from both 90s street style and African textiles, each resulting in a unique-yet-uniform finish. The KD 12 arrives in an almost-military makeup, with the PG 4’s toned-down red upper popped with vibrant orange, blue and magenta. Nike Basketball’s marquee sneaker, the LeBron 17, pairs a denim blue upper that’s interwoven with a mix of multi-colored thread, while the Kyrie 6 pairs a creamsicle-styled base with vibrant pops of blue and neon pink. Finally, the Zoom Freak 1stays cool, calm and collected up top, with retro colored prints added to his oversized Swoosh. Grab a first look at each pair right here, and expect them t start hitting the hardwood come January 20th.
