Nike Basketball continues to blur the line between innovation and nostalgia with the upcoming Nike G.T. Cut 4 "Photo Blue," a colorway that clearly nods to one of the most iconic basketball shoes of all time. Set to debut around NBA All-Star Weekend in mid-February, the pair channels the unmistakable look and feel of the original Air Foamposite One, translating that legacy into Nike’s modern performance framework.

The most immediate connection comes through the molded shell upper, finished in striking Photo Blue that closely mirrors the OG Foamposite aesthetic. Since its introduction in 1997, Nike’s Posite material has remained one of the brand’s most recognizable hoops innovations, defined by its sculpted form and durability. While the G.T. Cut 4 doesn’t use traditional Foamposite construction, its contoured shell and glossy finish make the influence unmistakable.

Black textile elements appear through the tongue and inner bootie, balancing the bold exterior while maintaining a performance-driven setup. A subtle silver Swoosh along the heel provides contrast, while the aggressive midsole tooling reinforces the shoe’s modern identity. Underfoot, the G.T. Cut 4 is expected to feature Nike’s latest cushioning and traction upgrades, designed for responsiveness, court feel, and lateral stability — all key components of the Greater Than series.

Nike Basketball has frequently revisited its past when shaping the future of its performance lineup, and the G.T. Cut 4 "Photo Blue" fits squarely into that pattern. From Foamposites to Flightposites and beyond, echoes of late-’90s and early-2000s design language continue to resurface in updated forms, keeping heritage alive without sacrificing modern performance demands.

The Nike G.T. Cut 4 is expected to launch during All-Star Weekend in mid-February, though it remains unclear which colorways will be first to release. For updates, stay tuned to our real-time Nike Release Dates Calendar.
