Nike’s impending “Flora Pack” has been experimenting heavily with canvas and woven thread, with decorative detail the key theme. Air Force 1, Air Max 90s, and Blazer Mids have been spotted featuring Pomegranate, Indigo, and Cork plants have all featured in beautiful stitchwork, with the next arrangement to arrive honoring the acacia: the Nike Blazer Mid “Catechu”
An extract of acacia trees used variously as a food additive, astringent, tannin, and dyes, catechu is pinkish-red in hue. And, like the pack’s “Indigo” Blazer, is reflected at the canvas Swoosh and rear paneling. Once again we see a flower-bearing branch stitched over the top of a full white canvas-constructed sneaker. The aforementioned rear panels arrive emblazed with facts on the plant, including the scientific name, where it’s commonly found, and more. Cork tongue tags and rear overlays match those found on the recently-revealed Air Max 90 “Cork”while collection-consistent cinder rubber outsoles and dubraes arrive with neon-volt insoles to complete the design.
